The Cafe Guide, pt. 2

I absolutely have to follow up my first cafe guide with a second.

Who do you think I am… a girl who doesn’t spend all her time finding new coffee spots?! Preposterous.

All of these places are Ava-certified delicious.

Let’s jump right in:

Indre By (the Inner City)

  • Sonny: Sonny has absolutely baller tomato soup. It’s perfect for food and coffee, but less perfect for working I’d say. Definitely more of a cute lunch spot.
  • The Roe Bar: This may win the Most Beautiful award out of all the cafes I’ve been to. It’s actually a furniture/interior design store called Louise Roe, but someone had the ingenious idea to stick a cafe inside the shop. Thus, we are blessed with gorgeous interiors that make me feel extra-fancy on disastrously disheveled days. Brilliant hummus, by the way.
  • Bastard Cafe: I love this place! If you’re looking for weird-cool, then come here. The cafe is home to thousands of board games that you can come play on a night out, but it’s also a great place to do work. The funky interior with mismatched chairs, colorful lights, and different levels makes me feel like I’m doing work in a creative wonderland. Plus — there’s an awesomely hip movie theater right above the cafe.
  • Paludan Bogcafe: Paludan is always there for you when you need her. There’s so much seating here, so if you need a place where you’ll definitely be able to find a cozy nook and work for a while. Stop by here.
  • Emmylou: This cafe is tiny. It’s halfway underground, and there are maybe… four tables total? The vibe is cute and artsy, and it embodies the classic hygge Copenhagen culture.

Christianshavn

  • H A N S: Speaking of tiny cafes, this shop might be the tiniest. The barista is basically crafting up the drinks right next to your table. It’s a great choice for Christianshavn and is extremely close to the Metro station. White walls and wood interior. Delicious coffee. You’ll feel like a real, hip Copenhagener here.
  • The Packhouse: Great food spot! The Packhouse is essentially right on the canal that runs through the middle of Christianshavn, so it’s awfully picturesque. This little place is very cozy.

Vesterbro

  • Prolog: Prolog is well known in Copenhagen for its amazing coffee. Since it’s such a hotspot, it’s better for an in-and-out visit without much lingering. But the coffee is worth it. Plus — it’s located in the meatpacking district, which I think is one of the coolest areas of the city. It’s chock-full of the neatest stores and restaurants, and you’re bound to have fun wandering around the old warehouse area.
  • Hart Bageri: My favorite pastries in Copenhagen. Period. Pain au chocolat is to die for.
  • Risteriet Halmtorvet: This is a very low-key place in Vesterbro near central station. It’s in a convenient location, and the single person high-top table nooks near the window make for the ideal study spot. The interior is so cool. But they don’t have many food offerings, so definitely bring a snack along to this one.

And that’s all I’ve got!
Well, probably not all I’ve got. But if you need anymore recommendations at this point, just contact me.

All the best,

Mug-in-hand Ava
